At Wingate School we have children from ages 3- 18 from a wide variety of countries across Europe and beyond. Although this provides us with a multi-lingual environment, English is the main language in lessons and encouraged in the play ground.
We follow a curriculum based on the English National Curriculum with added Spanish. Parents are informed three times per year by a written Report and there are two Open Days when Parents are encouraged to come and discuss their child’s progress with the teachers.
Students in Years 10 & 11 follow International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) syllabuses of either the Cambridge International Exam Board (CIE) or Edexcel – Pearson Exam Board. In the Sixth Form students can study a variety of subjects to A Level.
The academic qualifications achieved here are valid for Universities across the World. We also offer a route into Spanish Further or Higher Education with a process called “Convalidation” or “Homologacion”. Details of which can be found on our website.
Wingate School has four distinct parts: Early Years & Foundation plus Years 1 & 2 (KS1); Junior School, Years 3 to 6 (KS2); Senior School, Years 7 to 11 (KS3); and our selective Sixth Form of Years 12 & 13.
The majority of our teaching staff are UK trained but we are enriched by our Spanish National teachers and a few from wider a field. Many of our staff have worked at the school for over 10 years.
A school bus service is available and covers most areas from Golf del Sur to Los Gigantes.
Wingate is a family owned school whose values are based on mutual respect, good manners and firm but fair discipline. There is a school uniform and rules regarding jewellery and hairstyles. However, we pride ourselves as a nurturing and caring community.
Please see our website for much detail on our school and we look forward to hearing from you.
