We draw from the best of the pupil-centred educational traditions: Montessori, Waldorf-Steiner, Dewey. We interpret the National Curriculum of England in highly creative ways. We aim for the pupils of every age to explore each topic and create their own understanding, closely guided by a warm, supportive teacher. This makes for passionate young learners. At ages 3-11, our children observe, experiment and explore. In primary, high quality project work allows a child to enquire and investigate deeply a period of history, drawing together its legends and mythology, its belief system, its history and geography, its art and innovations. Highly memorable and inspiring. In secondary, pupils debate, develop critical thinking, create their own writing and hold regular experiments. All take part in Choir, Book Club, & a class Shakespeare production per year. An emphasis on independent thinking, global affairs and the expressive arts (drama, music and art) with frequent concerts, recitals and theatre productions by all ages. Strong family presence in school: regular family workshops, an open door policy, a calendar of vibrant family events.
