We opened our doors for the first time in September 2016. Green Stone International School provides not only an education, but life experiences for children and youth between 1-12 years of age.
We are an innovative international center. We take great pride in working with the University of Oxford and are a pioneer school in Spain, implementing the Oxford International Curriculum. Our project is centered on two core pillars – Enquiry based learning and Conscious Discipline (personal, social and emotional program). We firmly believe that a focus on mindfulness and wellbeing structures help to empower our students by equipping them with the skills necessary to problem solve, self-regulate, and make healthy and safe decisions throughout their lives.
Our teachers carefully plan and create enabling environments for high-quality learning, high expectations, practice, experience and play. We ensure that our planning creates opportunities to motivate and inspire all of our students, fostering a love of learning and teaching. We use a spiral approach, and hands-on learning to deepen students’ knowledge and ensure smooth transitions across every stage of their educational journey. Additionally, we have students participate in global skills projects which teach them autonomy and equip them with the skills to shape the future.
Through promoting problem solving and developing critical and creative thinking skills, our team of highly qualified native teachers help students thrive in an ever changing world.
Our pedagogy is student-centered, and we adapt our approaches to meet the unique needs of each student as an individual, teaching to their point of need. Furthermore, our focus on the social-emotional aspect of education and small class sizes, enable us to provide that.
Our purpose is to create a supportive environment that nurtures creativity, curiosity, and free-thinking in our students, while also helping them develop the critical life skills they will need to thrive in the future and become lifelong learners. We aim for our students to be the change they want to see in the world even when no one is looking.
