Madrid 2016

The National Association of British Schools in Spain held it’s 38th annual conference in Madrid in March with the theme of “Success in the Classroom and Beyond”. The conference was held over 4 days starting with a Gala dinner on the Thursday evening.

The current NABSS president, Adrian Massam, opened the conference at the Gala dinner, welcomed members and awarded an Honorary NABSS membership to James Shallcross MBE for his commitment and work for NABSS in the past. Andy Mackay, the director of the British Council in Spain and guest speaker and war veteran Phil Ashby also gave speeches. 56 member schools were represented at the Annual General meeting held on the Friday.

46 different companies were represented in the “Education village” during the conference where over 300 delegates from our schools who came for professorial development through workshops were present.

Training on current educational topics was provided for these 300 delegates through workshops, key note speeches and break out groups.
