The Lady Elizabeth School is a Coeducational Day School for pupils from 2-18 years. The student body comprises 585 pupils of which 60% are British, 20% Spanish and 20% a mix of a number of nationalities.
The full British Curriculum is delivered and pupils study for GCSEs, IGSEs and GCE A / AS Levels. English is the official language and studies are complemented with Spanish Curriculum (Spanish Language and Literature, Valenciano and the Geography and History of Spain). French and German are offered at Secondary level. The School’s programme of study is authorised in Spain and England .
Specific emphasis is given to the development of the individual. High standards prevail. Pupils are nurtured in a caring manner to enable them to realize their full potential, both in their studies and in their future professional lives. All pupils attend to School in uniform, which has become a distinctive feature of the School.
LAUDE The Lady Elizabeth School has developed enviable traditions in the fields of sport, music, speech, dance and drama. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities and sporting competition is encouraged at all levels. Team spirit is developed by the House system and many charitable initiatives are organized in the local community.
The Staff are well qualified and enthusiastic with a low turnover which encourages stability. There is support for children with certain learning difficulties.
The educational aims of LAUDE The Lady Elizabeth School are based upon four basic principles: the teaching of values (civic, ethical and social), the teaching of the English language, the education of our pupils in new technologies and the practice of sports.
In both the Primary and Secondary Departments of LAUDE The Lady Elizabeth School, emphasis is firmly placed on each pupil’s personal effort. Initiatives taken by members of staff encourage those they teach to respect themselves and their own talents.
The high quality of education offered at all levels of the Primary Department nurtures the fundamental skills required by each child. They learn to experiment with the new concepts introduced to them while adopting a disciplined understanding of all the essential characteristics of the Primary syllabus.
At Secondary Level, the exposure to so many different courses and the choice that is available, allows pupils to choose from a wide variety of subjects ant to start planning their professional lives. The School offers many different subject options at Secondary level that satisfy every student’s individual needs and allow them to reach the highest academic level in their studies.
The Sixth Form is a vibrant body of students who continue to display multiple talents in so many areas, both academically and socially. Former pupils attend over 40 universities in 8 countries, following a wide variety of courses.
The School is an examination centre for CIE Cambridge International Examinations, Edexcel and AQA. The School is also affiliated to the Royal Academy of Arts, London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music.
Location
Situated on the northern Costa Blanca, mid-way between Alicante to the South and Valencia to the North, the Secondary School is located in Lliber, close to the A7 motorway. The new Junior School is situated on a large enclosed site on the Cumbre del Sol, close to Benitachell. Communication with neighbouring towns is good, with Alicante and Valencia airports approximately an hour away.
