The British School of Tenerife

The British School of Tenerife is a new school with a lot of experience and history behind it. Founded by the merging of two schools in the north of Tenerife, Trinity School and the International British Yeoward School the new school is an exciting mix of the best of both schools.

Children and young people from the age of 2 to 18 can receive an excellent education in the BST as can be seen by the well rounded adults who have finished their education at Trinity and Yeoward schools and by exam results gained by students from both schools to date.

The new school will be divided into a Lower, Middle and Upper school housed in the three sites which form the British School. The school will be a two-form entry school offering education up to A Levels with facilities for 725 pupils.

BST Lower School- La Luz:

Situated in La Luz in La Orotava, (hence the name), this purpose built school will accommodate pupils from Toddlers (Playgroup) to Year 4. The Early Years Department, Playgroup, Nursery and Reception unit consists of 6 bright and airy classrooms with ample play space for outdoor activities. There is a small kitchen attached to the unit and children who attend our breakfast club are catered for here. The school also has a large dining room which provides home made meals at lunch time for the whole school.

Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 are accommodated in 8 classrooms and share a Library and Computer Suite although each class also has a computer for use throughout the day. Music is taught in the Hall and assemblies are also help there. The school is lucky to have an indoor Sports Hall and an outdoor sports ground and a playground. School meals are served in the dining area and meals are prepared fresh everyday. The school vegetable plot is located adjacent to the school and children get the chance to plant and tend the plot at least once a week.

BST Middle School- Trinity

Situated in Los Realejos the Middle School accommodates pupils from Year 5 to Year 9 on a site which has two playgrounds, a library and computer suite, an art room and a science lab and a kitchen for cookery classes. The school kitchen prepares breakfast and lunch daily using fresh produce from local suppliers. Although the Middle school does not have an on-site sports hall we are very fortunate to be able to use the Los Realejos’ Sports Hall which is located beside the school. The Sports centre has both indoor and outdoor facilities for football, basketball, gymnastics and a beach volleyball court. The school has a garden areas where students can sit and read or chat during break or lunch times.

BST Upper School-Yeoward

Situated in Puerto de la Cruz beside the lush Taoro Park the Upper school caters for students from Year 10 through to Year 13. All the students on this site are preparing for IGCSE and A-level exams. and with two science labs. a library, computer suite and art room the atmosphere of the school is conducive to serious study. 6th formers at the BST have there own form room and kitchen. The school also has an outdoor area for basketball or football. The school tuck shop provides meals and snacks throughout the day.
