El Plantio International School is situated on the outskirts of Valencia, in the quiet, residential area of El Plantio in the village of La Cañada. A network of chartered buses links the school with the city of Valencia and many surrounding villages.
El Plantio is a privately owned co-educational British school catering for pupils from nursery (aged 3-4 years) to IB (aged 17-18). We are a member of the National Association of British schools in Spain and are also recognised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science.
The school is an official Cambridge Examinations Board centre where pupils (Years10 and 11) study for the IGCSE.
El Plantio is an authorised centre to deliver the International Baccalaureate programme to years 12 and 13 in conjunction with the “selectividad”, giving students access to university education in Spain or abroad.
All subjects, apart from the obligatory elements of Spanish language, Valenciano and social studies, are taught in English according to the National Curriculum for England and Wales by an experienced and highly qualified staff.
The compulsory curriculum is supplemented with a wide variety of optional extra curricular activities for students ranging from football, tennis, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, chess, piano and guitar.
The school is housed in two purpose built blocks, one recently constructed, with modern classrooms, access to satellite television, laboratories, an ICT suite and rooms for music and art. A well-equipped library, large dining area, a spacious hall used for assemblies, end of term performances and gymnastics, extensive play areas for younger pupils, a sports ground and a swimming pool are among the facilities the school has at its’ disposal.
To achieve high academic standards together with an appreciation of the values of the wider community and the development of a critical outlook are the objectives of El Plantio International School for the students.
