Founded in 1966 we are one of the oldest British curriculum schools in Spain and our values and ethos have changed little in over fifty years. We are fully authorised and regularly visited by inspectors from the National Association of British Schools in Spain on behalf of the British Council.
Kensington School follows a ‘pure’ British curriculum and is therefore able to dedicate all of its time to subjects within the National Curriculum for England and Wales. We remain a family run school, with the founder ́s sons, all of whom were educated at Kensington, ensuring we continue to thrive as a happy, purposeful and dynamic community.
Although we are academically non-selective, we achieve remarkable examination results at both GCSE and Advanced Level. This is due to the dedication of our teachers, in addition to the small class sizes which allow pupils of all abilities to develop their full potential.
Apart from Spanish and French, all lessons are taught in English. Fluency in English is important to access the curriculum, so we provide support for those needing additional help to improve their linguistic capacity.
Our student body is very international, and it is a joy to see children from around the world coming together each day to take advantage of everything Kensington School has to offer.
We offer a quality education from Nursery to University on one site therefore the transition from Primary to Secondary is seamless. For a Headmaster, there is nothing more satisfying than to see happy youngsters enjoying their school days. Children only get one education, so we have a responsibility to ensure that our pupils get the very best start in life.
Kensington students gain access to prestigious universities all around the world with the majority reading for degrees in the United Kingdom. A recent change in the Spanish law now enables those with British Advanced Levels direct access to Spanish universities.
At Kensington School our pupils feel relaxed, secure and valued. They are prepared for the ever-changing demands of our modern global society. We hope you find our site informative, but the only way to discover if we are the school for your child is to come and visit us!
