The National Association of British Schools in Spain will hold its 34th Annual Conference from 1^st to 4^th March 2012 in Madrid.

The support of the Department of Trade and Investment ( UKTI )and the British Embassy, marks an interesting and exciting development in the organization of the conference and exhibition this year. NABSS is delighted at the prospect of working with UKTI and we look forward to sharing expertise to create our best conference ever!

The programme will start with a day dedicated to heads and owners of schools which will include presentations from key speakers from both the Department for Education and the Spanish Ministry of Education. Thereafter there will be an interesting programme of professional development for senior leaders and teachers, keeping us informed and up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in education. While this is taking place, authorised representatives of member schools will attend the Annual General Meeting .

The exhibition has always formed an integral part of our conference and this year even more so – together with UKTI we shall present our first “ Education Village” where we will welcome all of those who have staunchly supported us over the years and also the new faces of the companies which will be joining us for the first time.

Not all is work , of course, and the best form of networking is through our social events, which this year will include a reception offered by the British Embassy, our gala dinner , various cocktails and receptions with presentation of awards – not forgetting all of our coffee breaks!!

The venue chosen for this event is the Hotel Meliá Avenida de America, Madrid. The hotel has recently been refurbished and provides not only comfortable accommodation, but also excellent conference facilties with attractive space for all of our activities. For those who find the time there is also a spa for relaxation!
