St. George Almería
St. George Almería belongs to St. George’s British Schools Group, founded in Málaga in 2000. The Group has schools in Roquetas del Mar, Almeria (2007), Sanlúcar la Mayor, Seville (2009) and La Moraleja, Madrid (2010). All of our Schools are well known for their friendly, tranquil environment, which allows teachers and pupils to enjoy their work and achieve high standards.
Our school facilities are impressive and continue to improve each year. Classrooms are large and bright and there are extensive specialist facilities including: science laboratories, art room, information technology suites, music room and a new learning resource centre.
Eighty per cent of the School curriculum is based on the UK National Curriculum and taught by fully qualified British staff. There are two compulsory elements of the Spanish curriculum: Spanish language and social studies, which comprise the remaining twenty percent. There is a wide range of subjects available for examination study at both IGCSE and Advanced Level. Pupils are well prepared for further study in the United Kingdom, Spain or elsewhere in the World.
We want our school to be more than just a teaching institution. Pupils can participate in a variety of after-school clubs and sports. We are also developing a programme of cultural events and visits, which include talks and workshops by British writers and other relevant artists and personalities.
St. George´s has its own special atmosphere. We want pupils to appreciate the joy of learning and to become decent, tolerant and well-educated people. We want St. George’s Almería to make a real impact in our pupil’s lives, helping them become independent thinkers and life-long learners. Every child really does matter to us.
